One of two flights of videos I edited and sound designed as part of an Adi x DSG campaign.
Flight one focused on Dame Lillard. I delivered a 30-second connected TV hero film, alongside two 15-second, and four 6-second edits. These films were then adapted into multiple aspect ratios for rollout across a range of social media platforms.
I absolutely loved working on these edits. The interviews had real depth, covering a broad range of topics, and I enjoyed leaning into my documentary editing instincts to draw out the strongest moments. My focus was on shaping an engaging and emotive narrative by weaving the interview material together with the musical performances. I was thrilled at the clients response to the first cut - "It gave us goosebumps."
Because the shoot yielded so much strong content, I was keen to ensure the 15-second and 6-second edits weren’t simply truncated versions of the 30-second film. Instead, they feature original moments and ideas that couldn’t be accommodated in the hero edit.
From a sound design perspective, I enjoyed using sound effects to enhance the storytelling throughout. This ranged from subtle details such as a digital zoom effect to support an in-camera move, to more expressive moments, like adding reverb and impact to a basketball hitting the floor to punctuate a line of dialogue.
Once the offline edits were approved, I managed delivery to an external colourist and rebuilt all final onlines using the graded material. A key challenge on this project was collaborating with a US-based crew, requiring careful time-shifting and coordination across time zones.​​​​​​​​
