One of my favourite projects of 2025. I really enjoyed editing and sound designing these videos for Auto Trader. I was lucky to have some great footage and strong performances to play with in the edit, which gave us a lot of flexibility to experiment in post.

 

Because the first version of the film needed a very fast turnaround, I became involved early in pre-production. I worked closely with the DIT to streamline the ingest process so we could begin editing as quickly and efficiently as possible once shooting wrapped.

 

During pre-production, I also collaborated with the director on a mood film, editing together still frames from the storyboard to explore pacing and determine how much coverage we’d need to shoot. At this stage, I began developing the sound design and experimented with creative ideas such as slowing the music track to create the effect of the music “freezing” along with the protagonist. Much of this early sound work carried through into the final edit and also helped us generate a clear list of sound effects for the sound recordist to capture on set.

 

Once the edits were picture-locked, I oversaw delivery and communication with external VFX artists and colourists, before reassembling and delivering the final graded films.
